A high percentage of lambs wool was on offer at the wool sale
in Christchurch last week, with the balance crossbred fleece
and second shear wools.
There was good demand for lambs wool and good colour
crossbred and second shear wool and the market was firm to
slightly dearer compared with the previous sale, Roger
Fuller, of Elders Primary Wool, said.
With the dry conditions, growers would be shearing earlier,
which could affect wool supply later on, he said.
China dominated the buying, supported by Australia, New
Zealand, Western Europe, India, the Middle East and the
United Kingdom.
