Wools of New Zealand is hitting the road.
The Wools of New Zealand (Wonz) roadshow ''Our wool. Our
brand. Our future'' began earlier this week with several
stops in the North Island.
Next Monday, the roadshow reaches Southland, and two events
will be held in Otago on Tuesday.
Presenters include Wonz chairman Mark Shadbolt and chief
executive Ross Townshend, Camira Fabrics development director
Cheryl Kindness and Wonz United Kingdom market development
and innovation manager Steven Parsons.
Mr Shadbolt said thousands of shareholders and supporters had
been invited to the meetings to hear what developments were
taking place within Wonz.
At the meetings, growers would be able to find out where
''contracted lambs wool will go, the opportunities in the
market and the significance of traceability'', he said.
''Two significant parts will be providing new options to
growers, new and significant routes to market, and with the
Camira lambswool contract we hope to speak about price,'' Mr
''It's an update about where Wools of New Zealand is at and
where it's going,'' he said of the roadshow.
It was an exciting time to be involved in the industry.
''Wool's a lovely product, it's an exciting product and
there's more and more innovation going in to find new uses
for it,'' Mr Shadbolt said.
''There's never been a better time for growers in terms of
routes to market.''
