The Amberley School team is once again the winner of the Canterbury A&P show junior interschools beef paraders competition.

Teams of four pupils, aged between 7 and 10, entered the competition on ''people's day'' - Friday of the Canterbury A&P show.

The Amberley School team also won last year's event.

Cattle exhibitors are encouraged to ''adopt'' a school to help handle their cattle at the show. The pupils learn showmanship skills and also have the opportunity to enter the beef herdsperson competition.

Christchurch Boys' High School won the high school interschools event.
