St Kevin's College pupils Holly Malcolm and Ella Sanderson emerged the victors in the Aorangi regional final of the TeenAg contest held in Fairlie last week.

Georgia Malcolm and Brittany Caldwell were second in the competition, which was open to secondary school pupils aged between 13 and 18 and involved a series of farm-related modules.

The top three TeenAg and AgriKidsNZ teams from each regional final will battle it out for the national champion's title at the grand final in Christchurch in July.

Those events will be held in conjunction with the ANZ Young Farmer Contest grand final.

James Davidson, of Hinds Young Farmers Club, was the last grand finalist to be named after winning the Aorangi regional final.

Nigel Woodhead (Pendarves) was second and Sam Bryan (Foothills) third, with Cole Harris (Milford-Clandeboye) fourth.

Mr Davidson works as 2IC on a 1400 cow dairy farm at Darfield and his goal was farm ownership.
