Designed in the UK and used by the Red Cross during disaster relief, the portable cooker was touted as ideal for hunters, trampers, duck-shooters, musterers and anyone keen on the outdoors.
Stallholder Pete Stocks said that although there was a fire ban in the Wanaka area, due to the dry conditions, he was exempt because of the cooker's elevated enclosed firebox and a spark arrester.
The flue came in five sections and the legs folded up, which made it easily transportable, Mr Stocks said.
''It's got a wow factor, which makes it good for selling. It stops a lot of people.''
Based in Hamilton, he travelled to a variety of shows throughout the country. He sold more cookers in Wanaka as he believed people in the South were more ''outdoors orientated''.
