Varsity women's eight at South Africa regatta

The Otago University women’s eight, the only international crew at the South Africa universities' regatta, came 4th in a 4km race down the Kowie River at Port Alfred, Eastern Cape. The crew, the first Otago women’s crew to compete overseas, was Aynsley Moore (cox), Leigh Johnstone (stroke), Kirsty Thompson, Fiona Bourke, Rosie Waddington, Genevieve Behrent, Sarah Lindley, Amanda Thompson, Penny Farrell (bow), and coaches Sonya Walker and Glen Sinclair.
