Ferrying building supplies to Quarantine Island was never going to make a stimulating photograph but with a little fossicking around, I stumbled across this tremendous reflection in the unusually shaped chapel window. I was frustrated at my limited field of view at this rescue near St Clair from the Otago Regional Rescue helicopter. However, having the patient framed by both brightly-coloured flippers of the rescuer makes for an effective photograph. Here's one for the people who say the Portsmouth Dr molar sculpture makes them see red. Cavalcaders stretch across a ridge on Mt Burke above Lake Wanaka. Why would I want to have any other job? Michael Gorinski battles the swift Taieri River floodwaters to rescue sheep. One photo taken on a road trip to gather photographs for the book 'Shrek, The Story of a Kiwi Icon' still makes me smile. John Perriam and Shrek standing on Auckland's downtown Queen St during rush hour summed up Shrek's life to me: just bizarre! Strong lines painted on the airport runway apron draw the viewer's eye in this otherwise simple image of Bruce Smaill on the prowl for birds which could damage aircraft.
