Treble Cone skifield is ready to open with conditions described by many in the ski industry as "the best in a decade''. The skifield held a mountain orientation tour for its 160 staff members today - two days out from its opening to the public. Over 2000 people turned out to celebrate the opening of Mount Hutt ski field on Saturday, on what Ski Area Manager, David Wilson, described as the best start he'd seen in nine years. It's been over 15 years since the ski field was open during May, and Wilson said the early start had been a tough push for staff, but that the hard work had paid off.
