A man who stabbed a friend to death during an hours-long
drinking session has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Raymond Mahuki, 44, was found guilty of murder after stabbing
Bala McQueen, 46, three times at his Hamilton home in August
last year.
Justice Pamela Andrews sentenced him to a minimum of 10
years' jail in the High Court at Hamilton on Friday, the
Waikato Times reported.
Mahuki apologised for the misery he had caused his and Mr
McQueen's whanau, and said he could not explain why he had
stabbed his friend with two knives after a day of excessive
drinking.
He has previously served 24 jail terms for convictions
including aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and
