A man accused of kidnapping and escaping from Manukau
District Court last year by pretending to be another prisoner
on bail will face a re-trial on Monday.
Ollies Siaea, 33, appeared in the Manukau District Court
today and was remanded in custody until September 13.
He is charged with kidnapping a 24-year-old Cambodian man
from his south Auckland home in March 2009, and holding him
for ransom.
Siaea faces four charges - unlawfully escaping custody,
kidnapping, demanding to steal and having equipment for
crime.
