Hayley Westenra will lead the singing of the national
anthem at Friday's National Memorial Service in Christchurch.
Westenra is returning from London, where she is based, to her
home town to honour the lives lost after February 22's
earthquake.
She sang the national anthem at a memorial service for
London-based New Zealanders at Westminster Cathedral in
London on March 2.
Dame Malvina Major and Dave Dobbyn will also perform at
Friday's service.
They will join international guests at the memorial,
including Prince William, Australian Prime Minister Julia
Gillard, and that country's opposition leader, Tony Abbott.
