Bottle bombers jailed

The last of a trio who planted bottle bombs around Christchurch were jailed today.

Scott James Wreford Kelly, 26, was given two years one month, and Damien Gary White, 25, two years seven months.

Each was sentenced on four charges of placing dry-ice bottle bombs around Christchurch on August 17 last year, and one of being party to placing a bomb at the Bus Exchange where a cleaner was injured when it exploded in his hand.

White pleaded guilty to the charges and Kelly was convicted after trial.

Raymond Gary Coombs, 26 was jailed in May for two years and three months after pleading guilty to similar charges which his lawyer described as a "prank gone wrong".
