A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck off the coast of New
Zealand this morning, GNS Science reports.
The quake hit at 2.37am, 650km northeast of Whakatane, at a
depth of 33km.
GNS Science said the quake may have been felt on the East
Coast of the North Island.
