A 19-year-old man was to have surgery after being stabbed in the chest in a Northland home.
Police say a female at the Onerahi house was arrested following yesterday's incident. She was held in custody and was due to appear in Whangarei District Court today.
It was likely she would face a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police say the man was stabbed once in the chest and was taken by ambulance to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
He was to be transported to Auckland to undergo surgery.
The incident is the third stabbing in Northland in just a few days.
Over the weekend two men were stabbed in separate incidents in Northland.
