Police have fears for the safety of a male who jumped off
Auckland's Princes Wharf early this morning.
Members of the public witnessed the male remove his shoes and
shirt before jumping into the water about 5am.
He was last seen swimming under the wharf.
The police national dive squad has been called in after a
search involving police staff and the police maritime unit
was unable to find him.
The male has been described as a 1.86m tall Caucasian of
medium build with frizzy hair about 15-20cm long.
Police have called for anyone with information that could
help identify the male or confirm his safety to get in touch
urgently.
