A wanted man on the run from police is thought to be linked
to an Auckland nightclub robbery in which tens of thousands
of dollars were taken at gunpoint.
Police have been seeking Rory Smyth, 25, since he failed to
appear in Auckland District Court on several charges
including unlawful possession of shotgun ammunition.
He is described as armed and dangerous and police warn he
should not be approached.
Police today said inquiries in recent days had identified
Smyth as a "person of interest" in relation to the recent
robbery of an Auckland nightclub.
A man with a shotgun took tens of thousands of dollars at
gunpoint from Miss Q's nightclub in Panmure on October 22.
Police described Smyth as a 1.8m tall Caucasian of slim build
with a distinctive "bad boy" tattoo on the right side of his
neck.
He is thought to be travelling with Shannelle Ward, 22, who
is a 1.67m tall Caucasian of thin build.
