A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being was knocked off her bicycle in Whangamata's Port Rd this morning.
The accident happened just outside the BNZ Bank which was targeted by an axe-wielding man last week.
The cyclist was hit by a reversing vehicle about 10.50am.
The injured woman was airlifted to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
No further details are known at this stage.
