A search for a missing Auckland woman has been upgraded to a
homicide investigation.
The disappearance of Bin "Cissy" Chen, 44, has baffled
police, after she failed to return home from her regular
evening walk on the city's North Shore on Monday last week.
She left her Torbay home about 5.30pm and when she failed to
come home her distressed partner raised the alarm.
Extensive land and air police searches of Long Bay reserve
and the surrounding area have failed to turn up any sign of
the woman. There have been no public sightings of her since
she went missing, police said.
Police would not say whether Ms Chen had touched her bank
account or used her mobile phone since she was last seen.
A forensic examination is under way at an address in Torbay
and a man is assisting police with the investigation, North
Shore CIB confirmed.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms Chen is
urged to call police on 08000 24779 or Crimestoppers
anonymously on 0800 555 111.
