A man killed in a crash near Ashburton on Monday has been named as Alan John Melton, aged 58, of Christchurch.
The crash occurred on State Highway 1, near Long Beach Rd, south of Tinwald, just before 4pm.
Mr Melton was the sole occupant of a car that crashed head-on with a truck. Investigations into the cause are continuing.
