Three men have been charged with multiple counts of supplying
methamphetamine and other drugs following the execution of
search warrants at four addresses outside Kaitaia.
A co-accused with name suppression faces 37 charges of
supplying methamphetamine and LSD, and selling cannabis,
31-year-old Richard Frazer Davies (Kaingaroa) 17 of supplying
methamphetamine, and 26-year-old Ahipara man Timothy William
Brasell 11 of supplying methamphetamine and selling cannabis.
All three were remanded in custody when they appeared before
the Kaitaia District Court on Tuesday.
Davies and the man with name suppression were to appear
before Judge Greg Davis yesterday to apply for bail, while
Brasell was to make his application today.
Further charges are pending against Davies in relation to
what police described as a methamphetamine laboratory found
in the boot of his car, which was being processed by members
of the Auckland Clan Lab Team.
Search warrants were executed in the early hours of Tuesday
morning, two at Kaingaroa and one apiece at Awanui and
Ahipara.
Detective Sergeant Mark Robertson (Kaitaia) said the three
men had no links with the arrests made at Whangape and
elsewhere earlier this month on methamphetamine and
manufacturing, money laundering and other charges.
