One man has died in a collision between a car and logging
truck in Northland.
Police were called to the intersection of Schiska Rd and
State Highway 1 in Kaipara District just before 11am.
A male driver died at the scene. It was unclear which vehicle
he was in. No one else was injured.
A fire crew from Maungaturoto were at the incident within 15
minutes, said a Northern Fire Communications spokesman.
The road remains closed and a diversion to Mangawhai is in
place at Kaiwaka.
The police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
