A toddler was run over and killed in a paddock in Waikato on Saturday night.
Police said the 10-month-old boy suffered fatal injuries when he was struck near Ngaruawahia.
Waikato road policing manager Inspector Marcus Lynam said police were called to Waikato Hospital shortly before 10pm following the fatality.
"The boy's death has been referred to the coroner and at this time police would like to extend their sympathies to the family," he said.
