A security guard who acted as Sir Peter Jackson's guard
during The Hobbit premiere last week has had a charge of
assault dismissed.
Thomas Andrew Gibson did not appear in Wellington District
Court this morning when a charge of common assault was
dismissed by Judge Joanna Maze.
Police offered no evidence around the alleged assault, which
was said to have occurred on July 21 this year.
Gibson first appeared in court on July 27, but police did not
apply to have the charge withdrawn until today.
Gibson acted as the security guard for Sir Peter Jackson and
his daughter during The Hobbit premiere in Wellington last
Wednesday.
