A woman has suffered moderate injuries after she was impaled
on a spiked fence at a central Auckland church this morning.
A Fire Service spokesperson said firefighters were called to
the Pitt Street Methodist Church about 5.15am where the woman
was impaled on a fence.
Firefighters used air-powered tools to cut her free.
The woman was taken to Auckland City Hospital by ambulance
about 6am.
A St John ambulance spokesperson said the woman suffered
moderate injuries in the incident.
It was not yet known where the spike pierced the woman, or
how she came to become impaled.
