Two Wairarapa men were seriously injured this morning when a
4WD they were in rolled 20-metres down a bank in Wairarapa.
Wellington Free Ambulance spokesman Chris Matthews said an
emergency call was received around 5.30am which was believed
to have come from a local farmer.
Mr Matthews said a four-wheel-drive type vehicle was found
down a bank on Waihakeke Road in Carterton.
One man was trapped inside the vehicle and another had
managed to get out and was walking around.
Both men were in a serious condition, he said.
The trapped man was freed and transported to Wellington
Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The other man was taken to Wairarapa Hospital in Masterton by
ambulance.
"The patients weren't in a position to elaborate on what had
happened due to their condition.''
