A 24-year-old man was killed in a car crash just north of
Invercargill this morning.
Senior Sergeant Dave Raynes, of Invercargill, said police
were called to the crash, 200 metres east of Lorneville-Dacre
Rd, at 6.30am.
The man, who was the sole occupant of a Honda saloon, was
found dead at the scene, Snr Sgt Raynes said.
As yet there was no indication what caused the crash, but it
was believed no other vehicles were involved, he said.
Police had closed part of the highway to carry out a scene
examination and were yet to contact the man's relatives to
confirm his identity.
