Police are investigating an early morning shooting in
Blenheim in which a man was shot in the leg.
Police said ambulance officers were called to a rural
property in Blenheim at 5am this morning by a 30-year-old
male who said he had been shot in the leg.
The incident was also attended by police who said the man was
conscious and in considerable pain.
He was transported by ambulance to Wairau Hospital where he
underwent surgery.
Police are currently speaking with witnesses to establish
what had occurred.
The owners of the property were not home at the time of the
shooting. They were away on holiday and had arranged house
sitters.
The owners have now been notified of the shooting and are
returning home.
