A 12-year-old New Zealand driver who could not see over the
steering wheel has crashed into another car driven by her
14-year-old sister who was looking for her.
Both girls suffered minor injuries in the crash, which
happened in Hamilton on Monday.
Police were initially called by a motorist who said she was
nearly hit by a car driven by someone who could not see over
the steering wheel, Inspector Marcus Lynam said today.
Shortly afterwards, the car crashed into another vehicle.
Both cars were extensively damaged.
It appears the younger girl had taken a car for a drive and
the older girl became concerned about where she was and went
looking for her, Insp Lynam said.
It was too early to say what, if any, charges the girls may
face.
