A cricket bat-wielding dairy robber is being hunted by police
in Christchurch.
The peroxide-blond man in his late teens or early 20s entered
a dairy near Riccarton Racecourse about 8.25am yesterday
carrying a cricket bat.
He took cash from the store owner before fleeing over fences
between Racecourse Rd and Epsom Rd.
"It is fortunate that no one was hurt in the incident, but we
want to make sure this offender is caught before it happens
again," Detective Gary Absalom said as he appealed for
witnesses.
Police say the offender is about 1.75m tall, of slim build,
with short peroxide-blond hair. He was wearing a grey hooded
top and black pants.
