A 69-year-old woman was taken to Wellington Hospital in a
serious condition after a fall in Golden Bay last night.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was called to the
incident about 8.40pm in Takaka, where the woman sustained
serious injuries as a result of a fall.
Using night vision goggles the helicopter pilot flew her
directly to Wellington.
During the return flight the rescue helicopter crew responded
to another job at 11pm at Anatori River on the West Coast,
where a 62-year-old woman had sustained moderate arm injuries
from a fall.
She was treated at the scene by an onboard paramedic, before
being transported to Nelson Hospital.
