The last person wanted in connection for the bashing death of
a Wairarapa man appeared in court today.
Hayden Ranson, 27, appeared in the Lower Hutt District Court
charged with aggravated robbery.
Police had been searching for Ranson since supermarket worker
Glen Jones died early on Saturday, hours after a violent
attack in his Featherston home.
He handed himself in to Upper Hutt police yesterday.
In court today, Ranson entered the dock with a t-shirt pulled
over his face, but Judge Ian Mill ordered it be pulled down.
Ranson stood with his head bowed during the hearing.
He was remanded in custody until tomorrow, where he will
appear in the Masterton District Court.
Three others - a man aged 28 and two women aged 32 and 22 -
have already appeared in court and have interim name
suppression.
The fourth, Kristofer Jones, 23, who also fled but was found
and arrested in Hunterville, appeared in the Palmerston North
District Court on Tuesday.
He was charged with aggravated burglary. He will appear
alongside his co-accused in Masterton District Court
tomorrow.
Mr Jones' funeral will be held tomorrow.
