A 23-year-old man has died after being shot in the stomach in
south Auckland on January 2.
The man, who has not yet been named, died at Middlemore
Hospital yesterday, 17 days after he was shot outside an
Eastland Rd house in Flatbush.
Detective Inspector Jim Gallagher said the investigation into
the shooting had been upgraded to a homicide.
Two men aged 25 and 29 have been arrested and charged in
relation to the shooting.
They appeared in court earlier this month and were remanded
in custody. Mr Gallagher said a post-mortem examination would
be held as soon as possible and further charges against the
men would be considered.
