A man is dead after an incident with a tractor near Opotiki College in the Bay of Plenty.
A St John Northern Communications team member said Opotiki St John were called to an incident on Buchanan St shortly after 3pm.
She confirmed the incident had involved a tractor and the man was found dead.
A Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment spokeswoman said the ministry had been informed of the incident and were making preliminary inquiries.
No further information was available.
