A Kaitaia pastor has been sentenced to home detention for taking photos up females' skirts.
Eric Clifford Reid, 63, of the Kaitaia Family Church, appeared in the Kaikohe District Court today for sentencing on 25 charges of making an intimate visual recording and 24 of possessing an intimate visual recording.
The offending happened over an eight-month period in 2011 and 2012 in Kaitaia.
The photos were taken with an iPhone up the victims' skirts and through a hole in a wall. One of the victims was a 16-year-old girl.
The images were uncovered by a forensic examination of Reid's computer after someone saw him taking pictures up one of the victims' skirt and alerted police.
Reid was sentenced to nine months' home detention.
Reid lost his job with Te Aupouri Maori Trust Board and stood down as pastor at the Kaitaia Family Church when a woman and a teenage girl complained earlier this year that he had made the recordings without their consent.
The Kaitaia Family Church is part of the Apostolic movement.
