Father charged over quad bike crash

The father of a six-year-old girl who was seriously injured when the quad bike she was riding with four adults crashed in Hawkes Bay has been charged in connection to the crash.

Daniel McGregor, 28, of Waimarama, who was driving the vehicle, has been charged with excess breath alcohol causing injury, one of reckless driving, one of cultivating cannabis, one of possessing cannabis and one of possessing utensils.

His six-year-old daughter, Ashlee Shorrock, suffered face, neck, spine and back injuries in the January 2 crash.

Three other people were also riding the quad bike at the time of the crash.
