A man who barricaded himself inside a room at a Blenheim
motel and reportedly threatened to blow up gas canisters is
being spoken to by police.
Police cordoned off a section of Main St in the centre of the
town late this morning.
By 1.25pm the stand-off had been resolved without injury and
police were talking to the man, a police spokesman said.
Black Rose tattoo parlour owner Willy Wills, who was three
doors down from where the incident was unfolding, said police
told him a man had threatened to blow up gas canisters.
He had locked himself in the bathroom of a motel room, Mr
Wills said.
