Sir Paul Holmes' funeral will be held at Auckland's Holy
Trinity Cathedral next Friday.
The veteran broadcaster died early yesterday at his Hawkes
Bay home, Mana Lodge, surrounded by family, after battling
aggressive cancer and a failing heart.
A statement from Sir Paul's family today said his funeral
would be held at Holy Trinity Cathedral at 1pm on February 8,
one week after his death.
It will be followed a private family cremation.
Sir Paul's body will remain with his family at Mana Lodge
until Tuesday before being brought to Auckland with his
family.
The family statement said they had been "truly touched by the
outpouring of love for Paul".
"Lady Holmes and the Holmes family would like to thank Sir
Paul's friends, colleagues and the public for their
overwhelming support throughout his illness and since his
passing yesterday morning."
Tributes to Sir Paul have flooded in from admirers and former
adversaries since his death.
