A pillion passenger on a motorbike who was killed in
Christchurch yesterday has been named by police.
Leonie Maria Hirawani (44), of Christchurch, was on the
motorbike when it collided with a car on Birchs Rd near the
intersection with Leadleys Rd in Prebbleton about 4pm
yesterday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police spokesman Stephen Hill said the man driving the
motorbike was flown to hospital with serious leg and arm
injuries.
The occupants of the car were believed to have suffered
moderate injuries, he said.
