Murder trial delayed

A High Court murder trial involving two teenagers and a man accused of killing Polish man Roman Skorek in Rotorua's Kuirau Park has been put off until July.

William Karauna Edwards, 15, Leslie McKay Glen, 14, and Simon Meka Herewini, 20, were to stand trial in the High Court at Rotorua today.

All three have pleaded not guilty to a joint charge of murder.

A fourth man Rawiri James Samuel, 21, pleaded guilty to Mr Skorek's murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 12 years on December 6.

This morning, Justice Lang remanded the trio to reappear on July 1. Edwards and Herewini have been remanded in custody and Glen is on bail.

The body of 64-year-old Mr Skorek was found in the geothermal park on January 23 last year.
