A 4-year-old boy became "entangled" in a ferris wheel at the
A&P Show at Murchison near Westport yesterday.
The boy needed to be airlifted to hospital after the accident
on the show ride about 3pm.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter said the boy
suffered "moderate arm injuries".
He was assessed by the onboard intensive care paramedic
before being flown with his family to Nelson Hospital for
further treatment.
Meanwhile, the rescue helicopter also retrieved a 21-year-old
man who had been pinned against a tree by a bulldozer
yesterday.
The man was trapped at Takaka about 4pm.
