The motorcyclist who died in a crash near Christchurch
yesterday has been named as 72-year-old Charles Herbert
Munslow, of Rangiora.
Police say "speed is likely to have been a contributing
factor" in the crash on State Highway 1 near Selwyn Lake Rd
at Dunsandel at 9am.
Initial investigations have indicated Mr Munslow failed to
take a moderate right-hand bend over a rail crossing, lost
control of the motorcycle and collided with a guardrail.
The crash happened at the railway crossing and no other
vehicles were involved, police said.
