A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a truck on on the Hauraki Plains this morning.
The crash happened on Swamp Rd, a road linking Paeroa to Tahuna near the intersection with SH26, when a westbound motorcycle collided with a turning truck at 6.20am.
Police described driving conditions at the time as good but with low fog or mist.
The Waikato Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash and the identity of the motorcyclist.
The death brings the Waikato road toll this year to four.
Earlier today, another person died in a single-car crash on Dyers Rd in Christchurch.
Police were called to the scene shortly after midnight. No further details were available.
