A person was killed in a house fire in Wellington today.
The property in Woodhouse Ave in Karori caught fire about
11.30am and firefighters had found a body inside the house,
central fire communications spokeswoman Jan Wills said .
The home was "well involved" when the Fire Service arrived
and six trucks and crews battled the blaze.
Fire crews were this afternoon dampening down hotspots and
had cordoned the house off, Ms Wills said.
A fire safety inspector was on the way to the scene to join
police already there, she said.
It was not yet confirmed who the person was.
