A Taupo dairy farmer charged with intentionally injuring an
Ironman cyclist in an alleged road rage attack reappeared in
the Taupo District Court today.
Joseph Arthur Frederick Roberts, 21, entered no plea to the
charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
and was remanded to reappear on March 27.
Roberts' charge follows an incident near Taupo on February 25
when cyclist Alistair Slade, who was training for the Ironman
New Zealand event, was injured after allegedly being pushed
off his bike by a motorist in a road rage attack.
