A car crashed into a pensioner's flat in south Auckland overnight.
About 9pm the car ploughed into the property on Dreadon Ave in Papatoetoe.
The couple inside at the time were uninjured but the crash caused significant damage to the property and the vehicle remains embedded in the house, which is feared to collapse if it is removed, said a northern police communications spokesman.
Structural engineers will today assess how to get the car out.
The driver is being questioned by police.
