House search linked to double stabbing

Armed police searched a Christchurch house today as they investigated a double stabbing earlier in the month.

A police spokesman said the St Albans property was searched about 7.15am.

A warrant was issued in connection with a fight that broke out between two groups about 6pm on Clare Road on May 5.

During the fight, two men were stabbed and seriously injured, the spokesman said.

He said no charges were laid today, but police were speaking with a resident of the property.

Police enquiries were continuing to establish the facts of what occurred at the original incident, the spokesman said.
