Armed robbery at Auckland pub

Four people have been arrested after an armed robbery at a South Auckland pub last night.

Police were called to the Whitehouse Tavern in Rosehill after the robbery about 11pm.

The offenders fled in a stolen vehicle but were spotted by police staff who were en route to the robbery.

Police gave chase but the pursuit was abandoned.

The stolen vehicle was found shortly afterwards and police dog handlers helped to track down two of the offenders.

Officers then arrested two more offenders as they tried to flee in a taxi with a firearm in their possession.

Police have asked for any whiteness who saw the incident or the vehicle leaving the scene to contact Counties Manukau police.
