Suspected meth lab found in central Auckland

A central Auckland apartment building was being evacuated this afternoon after police found evidence of a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

Police were called to the Nautilus Apartments on Hobson Street about 11.45am to investigate a report that someone was yelling and screaming at the building.

While investigating the incident police found some items, including chemicals, believed to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The police clan lab team and the Fire Service were called and the building was being evacuated.
