A West Auckland man has been taken to hospital in serious condition after shooting himself in the stomach this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a scene in Henderson about 1pm, where the man in his 40s was wounded but conscious.
He was taken to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition.
A police spokesman said the shooting was believed to be accidental and they were examining the scene.
