One person was killed and two injured in a crash between a car and a motorcycle near Nelson today.
The crash happened on the Coastal Highway near Mapua, west of Nelson, about 4.30pm, police said.
The woman driver of the car died at the scene.
The male motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and a passenger in the car was also injured, police said.
An investigation into the crash was under way.
The name of the woman would not be released until next of kin had been informed, police said.
